BYU Head Women’s Vball coach talks Club volleyball….

First, let me say it is such an honor to be surrounded by hundreds, actually thousands of vballl coaches from all levels and the best thing…..they ALL want to learn new ways to improve not only their team, but themselves.

No egos ;)

I sat with BYU Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Shay Goulding and ask her to talk about why it is important to particpate in club volleyball at the college level.

enjoy…

More to come!

NCAA Womens Championships..Day 1 - First video blog

Baseball & Volleyball?

Ok….

After receiving over 100 emails on just this one subject in the last few days, I will answer the following question for you :) (basically because I cannot keep up with the emails)

“Can your new video, Core Power for Baseball be used to help with volleyball power as well?”

Absolutely

Core Power for Baseball IS very beneficial for volleyball players as well. Challenging the core in any sport will make you more powerful whether it is hitting, jumping or tumbling.

If you were curious, you can head on over to Core Power for Baseball to see what all the talk is about.

Oh yeah…a minor leaguer being looked at by the Yankess and Mets LOVES the video and is doing the workouts…probably right now! ;)

Have a great day!

Heading to Omaha! What do you want to know??

Watch this short video about what I will be doing in Omaha then come on back and leave your questions..PLEASE :)

Thanks and have an awesome day!

The Flip is back!

Well, I got my Flip camera back and the first thing I did
was  film a cool and effective core exercise that will have
you or your team ‘feeling’ it.

Enjoy and keep in mind that this is an exercise that can be done
anywhere with no equipment. You or an entire team can do this
during warm ups, after practice or just have them drop and
‘Give me 20 seconds of the Core Pass!’
(tap hands instead of dumbbell pass).

Thanks and have a great day!

PS - Big announcement this week (Thursday hopefully) for my
new product for baseball pitchers. This product IS great for
volleyball & softball players as well!

Girl High School Volleyball Communication Skills:What 5 Things To Tell Your Front Row Players

Great article by Arpil. Please read and forward to any friends that can use it :)

Here ya go! What 5 Things To Tell Your Front Row Players

Have a fab day!

What a compliment!

HA!

You know you are doing something right when a competitor copies what you are teaching….

It seems that a fellow fitness professional in the volleyball world is ‘kinda’ copying parts of the mental aspects of Volleyball Training to the MAX and using it….

Am I upset

Heck NO!..:)

It’s all good…

If someone comes to you, (coach or athlete) and asks for input, it must mean you are doing something right.

That is exactly how I feel..

It is an honor..

Now, hopefully he will get up to date with his training style and use some of mine ;)

Have a great day and look for a few vids soon!

Keep rockin’!

Barry

What are YOU thankful for?

Thanksgiving is upon us here in the United States and many celebrate reasons to be thankful.
Below is a list of what I am thankful for….
Let’s hear yours…
Please list a few reasons why you are thankful.

Here are a few of mine:
(please do not leave until you read the last one)

I am VERY thankful for:
  • The thousands of people on my volleyball list. To be able to be in contact with them and spread the word of health & fitness as well as volleyball specific tips….very thankful.
  • my wife for spending every day manning the fort while I get to ‘play’. (maybe this should really be first ;) )
  • the many friends all over the world who I have become friends with in the volleyball world. They opened their arms and are very welcoming with this new way of thinking. It is only the beginning……
  • being able to look at my messy, messy desk with hundreds of papers all over it with ‘must do’s’! :)
  • my children who are great friends and adults that I am truly proud of. Uh oh…Really…there is not a tear here…SERIOUSLY!
  • for Bassige-Ba-Bindop Geoffroy Frederic. He is from Africa and emails me when he can. He felt the need to apologize to me in an email because he is 24 and still in university, but he explained it is due to his father recent passing.
This is how his email ended:
“accouding (according) to your info,OF COURSE here in cameroon it is our only secret (my workouts). my best friend and me we are using it only at home and we are very satisfy. my regard to barack obamaand barry country”

OK….now THAT is good stuff!

Check out the pic below that he sent me. He is the man on the left.

Please share why you are thankful :)
Thanks!
